Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 October 2026
This policy explains how LED Banner (the "app") and its website (https://app-led-banner.web.app) handle your information. The app is developed and published by DF Dev Apps (Diego Ferreira) ("we", "us"), who is the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The short version
- The banners you write, your saved banners and your settings stay on your device.
- To keep the app working and to improve it, the app sends usage statistics, crash reports and performance measurements to Google Firebase. They are linked to a random ID for your installation of the app, not to your name, your email address or your device's Advertising ID.
- The app has no ads, no accounts and no in-app purchases, and it does not use the Advertising ID.
- GIFs and videos you export are made on your device. They leave it only when you share them or save them to your gallery yourself.
- If you send feedback from the app or email us, we use your message only to read it, reply where we can, and improve the app.
Information stored on your device
- Your banners: the text and style of the banner you are editing, your recent and favourite banners, your settings and the colours you used recently. They are stored in the app's private storage.
- Exports: a GIF or video you export is kept in the app's cache until your next export replaces it or Android clears the cache. "Save to gallery" copies it to the "LED Banner" album in your Movies or Pictures folder, where you manage it like any other photo or video.
- Android backup: if you have turned on Android's backup, Android may include your saved banners and settings in the backup of your device, stored in your Google account under Google's terms. Exports are not included.
Deleting the app deletes all of this, except files you saved to your gallery.
Information we collect
The app uses the following services from Google Firebase, provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. Google processes this data for us under the Firebase data processing terms. More information: Privacy and Security in Firebase and the Google Privacy Policy.
Usage statistics (Firebase Analytics)
- What: how the app is used, such as the screens and features you open, along with the app version, device model, operating system version, language and time zone, how the app was installed (for example from Google Play), your approximate location (country, region or city, worked out from your IP address, which Analytics does not store) and a random app instance ID. The text of your banners is never sent.
- Purpose: to understand which features are used, so we know what to improve.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in improving the app (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can turn it off in Settings (see "Your choices").
- Retention: event data linked to the app instance ID is kept for at most 14 months; after that only aggregated statistics remain.
- Not used for advertising: the app does not collect the Advertising ID and does not link this data to advertising.
Crash and error reports (Firebase Crashlytics)
- What: when the app crashes or an operation fails (for example an export that could not be completed), a technical report: what the app was doing, the app version, device model, operating system version, free memory and storage, and a random installation ID.
- Purpose: to find and fix bugs.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app working (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can turn it off in Settings.
- Retention: 90 days.
Performance measurements (Firebase Performance Monitoring)
- What: how long things take, such as starting the app and drawing its screens, with the app version, device model, operating system version, the country it happened in (worked out from your IP address) and a random installation ID.
- Purpose: to find and fix slow parts of the app.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the app fast (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). You can turn it off in Settings.
- Retention: for a limited period set by Google, after which only aggregated statistics remain.
Feedback you send from the app
- What: the message you type in "Send feedback", together with the app's name, platform (Android) and version. The app does not add your name, email address or any identifier. If you want an answer, include a way to reach you in your message.
- Where: it is sent over an encrypted connection to our feedback service on Google Cloud, which passes it on to us. Like any web server, the service's request logs record the IP address a message came from; Google deletes these logs after a limited period.
- Purpose and legal basis: to read your feedback and improve the app, our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: up to 24 months, then deleted.
Ratings (Google Play In-App Review)
After you have used the app a few times, it may offer you the chance to rate it with Google Play's in-app review. Your rating and review go to Google Play under Google's terms; we only see what Google Play publishes.
Your choices
You can turn off usage statistics, crash reports and performance measurements at any time in the app under Settings > Share usage statistics; from then on the app sends none of them, and crash reports it had not sent yet are deleted. You can also reset the random IDs above by clearing the app's data or reinstalling the app, and object to this processing by emailing df.dev.ie@gmail.com.
Information we do not collect
The app does not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, microphone or camera, or the Advertising ID, and the text of your banners never leaves your device unless you put it in feedback or share an export yourself.
The only permission the app asks you for is storage, on Android 9 and older, and only to save an export to your gallery. It also uses permissions Android grants when the app is installed, such as internet access (for the services above) and vibration (to vibrate when a banner loops, if you turn it on).
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send: usually your name, email address and message. Contact links open your own email app, so your message reaches us as an ordinary email.
- Purpose: to answer your message and to fix problems you report.
- Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and improving the app (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
- Retention: we keep correspondence for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete it.
- Processors: messages are handled by our email provider, which may process data outside the European Economic Area under appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We never sell your information or use it for marketing.
Where your data is processed
Google may process the data described above outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Security
Everything the app sends travels over encrypted connections (TLS). Google stores the data described above encrypted at rest, and only the developer's account can access it. Your banners and settings stay in the app's private storage on your device.
Our website
The website is hosted on Google Firebase Hosting. When you visit it, Google processes your IP address and basic request details (such as the page requested and your browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, and keeps them in server logs for a limited period. The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking.
Information the app stores provide
Google may share anonymous crash reports and aggregated store statistics (such as download counts) with developers, depending on your device settings. These are governed by Google's own privacy policy and can't be used to identify you.
Children
The app is meant for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The statistics and reports described above are collected the same way for everyone and are not used to identify anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, for example in feedback, contact us and we will delete it.
Advertising
The app does not show advertising. If we introduce advertising in a future version, we will update this policy before that version is released and ask for your consent wherever the law requires it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, email df.dev.ie@gmail.com.
You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland (www.dataprotection.ie) or to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed. Significant changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
